One of the health benefits of almonds is that it delivers a massive amount of nutrients. The almond is basically an edible seed and grows on the tree Prunus dulcis, which is also known as the almond tree. Almonds are largely produced by the United States. They are a species of a tree native to the Middle East. The almonds that are available at the store have mostly had their shells removed, which reveals the edible nut inside them. They are sold either roasted or raw. A 1 ounce (28 grams, or small handful) serving of almonds contains (1):

Fiber: 3.5 grams.
Protein: 6 grams.
Fat: 14 grams (9 of which are monounsaturated).
Vitamin E: 37% of the RDA.
Manganese: 32% of the RDA.
Magnesium: 20% of the RDA.

They also contain a decent amount of copper, vitamin B2 (riboflavin) and phosphorus.

Just by consuming a small almond, you can gain 2.5 grams of digestible carbohydrates and 161 calories. 10-15% of these almonds' calories are not completely digested by the body because it is really difficult to break down and access the fat. Phytic acid is responsible for binding certain minerals and preventing them from being absorbed, and almonds contain phytic acid in a large amount. It means that the quantity of zinc, iron, and calcium that you are getting from the almonds will be reduced.

One of the other health benefits of almonds is that they are loaded with antioxidants, They protect us against oxidative stress, which is responsible for damaging molecules in our cells and contributing to the process of aging and fatal diseases like cancer. The brown layer of the almond's skin is the exactly the place where the powerful antioxidnts are massively concentrated. This is why the almonds with removed skin (blanched almonds) are not considered not a good choice from a health point of view . A clinical trial of 60 male smokers found that 84 grams (about 3 ounces) of almonds per day reduced oxidative stress biomarkers by 23-34%, over a 4 week period. Other studies also show that when you consume almonds along with your main meals, you protect yourself from an oxidative damage.
